Sunny bedroom for rent
at Nyland Co-Housing Community
Available now

We are looking to rent out a guest room in our 5-bedroom house to a single person who is a good candidate to integrate well with our family of two adults and two kiddos (pre-teen and teen), and two furry cats. We are friendly and outgoing, happy to share with group meals or not. The house is in a co-housing community east of Boulder, so lots of friendly neighbors, group meal and gathering opportunities. Expectation to participate in caring for the land and common spaces. Quiet area, open space adjacent on three sides, spectacular views of the Rockies and Flatirons. There is a farm on the property.

Your room would be on the main floor (other bedrooms are upstairs or downstairs). What you would share with our family: residential entrance, large kitchen, bathroom (although it is no one else’s primary bathroom), washer/dryer, living room with smart TV.

We do have a sacred rock band, so you will hear mantra chanting emanating from the basement on a regular basis :)

Utilities, Wi-Fi, bus pass, parking included. Currently furnished with a futon couch/bed, small desk, dresser, small bookshelf, mini fridge, microwave, and a closet with shelves (no extra storage space). Tenant has unrestricted access to shared common areas of the residence: the living room, kitchen, mid-level bathroom, laundry room (access via recreation room/music studio), and back deck.

$800/mo (month to month lease), although could include partial trade for house cleaning, help driving the kids to activities, shopping, etc. $200 security/cleaning deposit.

Single individual only. Must be clean and tidy, and observe quiet hours 10pm-7am. No pets. No smoking.

This is a rare opportunity to live at the Nyland Co-Housing Community (Colorado’s oldest and largest intentionally planned co-housing community). Nyland is in a spectacular semi-rural setting near 75th and Baseline between Boulder and Lafayette on RTD’s 225 bus route, 15-20 minutes driving to Boulder and 35 minutes to downtown Denver. Surrounded by publicly owned Open Space land on three sides, Nyland has breathtaking Front Range views, and is adjacent to miles of hiking and bike trails. Community amenities include gardens, greenhouse, workshop, exercise room, meeting rooms, guest rooms, wood shop, 35 acres of land, RTD bus pass, EV chargers, and more. Balanced between privacy and community, with great neighbors and a quiet ambiance.

Some community participation is essential (8 hours/year land work, plus monthly meetings etc): information about flexible participation options can be found below.
