Summer Rental - fully furnished house
Available June 1st through July 31st.
Our family will be spending the summer in the Steamboat Springs area as Forest Service volunteers helping track the impact of climate change on pikas. While we are gone, we would like to offer our house for rent to someone that would enjoy living in our beloved Nyland community.
We are renting out the main and upper floors of our house, which includes 1500 square feet, 3 bedrooms/offices, 1 full bathroom, kitchen, living room, hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, lots of windows, an open feel with lots of sunlight, views of the mountains, a private backyard with patio, wifi, washer & dryer, whole house evaporative cooler, high quality healthy mattresses, a whole house water filter and a radon mitigation system. (See photos below).
Our house also has an apartment in the basement, which will not be part of the rental as we will use that space to store our personal items out of your way. We might also spend a few nights in our basement if we need to be in town. The basement has a separate entrance, so you should hardly notice we are there.
Nyland is located on approximately 40 acres, three miles east of Boulder City limits and 35 minutes from downtown Denver and Denver International Airport. The Nyland community has 42 houses, a 6,000 square foot “Common House” with a commercial kitchen, large dining room, workout room, playroom, a craft room and guest rooms, as well as a greenhouse, farm, playground, basketball court, volleyball court, wood shop, community gardens and many other amenities. While at Nyland, you will be welcome to join in on community activities such as community meals, yoga classes, celebrations, land workdays, community meetings, etc. You will also be able to buy fresh, organic veggies from the North Field Farm, which is a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm on our property.
Nyland is surrounded by undevelopable “Open Space,” with trails and bike paths or lanes leading to Louisville, Lafayette, and Boulder. It has the feel of being in the quiet countryside when only a few miles from Boulder, Denver and the mountains. You can wake up to the sounds of birds chirping, enjoy scenic walks in the surrounding Open Space and watch the sunset over the mountains. If you want a bit more action, it is only a 15-minute drive to downtown Boulder, where you can catch the farmers market, watch the street performers on the Pearl Street Mall or enjoy one of the many great restaurants. The University of Colorado (CU) and Naropa University are also in downtown Boulder. If you like to hike and bike, there are trails and bike paths right out of Nyland's back meadow. By bike, it is only 10-minutes to Alfalfa's natural grocery store or 15 minutes to downtown Louisville with its many wonderful restaurants. A 20-minute drive will bring you to the Chautauqua trailhead where you can hike to the top of Green Mountain or Bear Peak in Boulder's vast Open Space. A 45-minute drive will bring you to Indian Peaks Wilderness. And a 1.5-hour drive will bring you to Rocky Mountain National Park.
