Staying in Nyland's guest rooms is a great way to get to know Nyland.

Nyland has two guest rooms in the Common House. Room 1 has one queen bed. Room 2 has two twin beds. Both rooms share a full bathroom directly across the hall.

The cost to rent a single room is $25 per night with a one time cleaning fee of $20. Thus, a three night stay would cost $95.

You can rent both rooms for up to a total of 14 days in a three month period.

Nyland residents can make a reservation for their family or friends as far in advance as they wish. Others can make a reservation up to 2 months in advance. 

We ask you make your reservation at least 48 hours in advance.

Guest Room Location: Both guest rooms are located in the bottom level of the Common House. Follow the directions to Nyland and park along the south-east side of Nyland way. Walk back to the circle on Nyland Way and enter the Common House via the doors on the north side. Walk through the mail room, turn left before the stairs and walk a short distance down a hallway. Go through the hallway door and folow the hallway as it turns right. Here you will find both guest rooms on your left and the bathroom on your right.

Check In: You can arrive anytime after 3pm. The door to your room will be unlocked and you will find your keys and an instruction sheet in your room.

Linens: Your bed(s) will be made and towels laid out for you to use. There is no daily cleaning.

Food and Cooking: We ask guests not to keep any food or drink in their room(s) as it will attract mice and other problems. The dining room, refrigerator and microwave in the Common House may be used. But please do not cook in the kitchen or leave messes for others to clean. Please label any food you store in the kitchen with your name and date.

Community Meals: We often have community meals that you are welcome to join. Just let us know at least 3 days before your arrival and we'll let the cooks know to expect you. When you join in on a meal, please pay the cooks $5 per adult and $2.50 per child at the beginning of the meal. Also, please help them for 30 minutes with the cooking and/or cleaning.

Facilities: You are most welcome to use the Common House living room, library and meditation rooms.

Liability: You will be charged $10 for the replacement of keys that are lost or not returned upon departure. You are also responsible for any damage done to the room or bath including stains in the carpet.

Lock Up: The Common House is locked at night around 10pm. Your keys include one to open the main doors. This can be a bit tricky. To unlock the door, rotate the key counter clockwise one quarter turn to the 9 o'clock position and back. Then turn the door knob. To lock the door, turn the key three quarters turn clockwise to the 9 o'clock position and back. Please make sure to check that the door is locked.

Locked Out: It is common to accidentally lock yourself out of your room when using the bathroom across the hall. Please make sure your room door is unlocked and/or take your keys with you.

Pets: No pets of any kind are allowed in the guest rooms or the common house. 

Safety: While Nyland is a very safe place to stay, we cannot guarantee or be responsible for the safety of valuables left in your room even when the doors are locked.

Not Allowed: The following are not allowed in the guest rooms or in the Common House: Pets, Guns, and illegal Drugs. Food and drinks are not allowed in the guest rooms but are allowed in the dinning room.

Check Out: Please depart your room by 11am so we have time to clean it before the next guests arrive. When you leave, please leave your payment and your keys in your room. Then lock the door to your room.

Payment: Please leave a check made out to "NDT" for $25 per night along with a separate cleaning fee of $20 in cash. Thus, for a 5 night stay in one room, you would leave a $125 check made out to NDT and $20 in cash in your room and lock the door behind you. (If you are staying for a week or longer and do not have a direct connection with a Nyland resident, it may be requested that you pay at the beginning of your stay.)
